Who We Are
Look, we're not gonna pretend we reinvented the wheel here. What started in a cramped Gastown studio back in 2011 has grown into something we're genuinely proud of - a team that actually gives a damn about making buildings that don't suck for the planet.
We've spent over a decade working with clients who weren't satisfied with cookie-cutter solutions. People who'd come to us frustrated, saying "everyone just shows us the same boring boxes." That's when we knew we were onto something real.
Based right here in Vancouver, we've learned that sustainable design isn't about checking boxes or slapping solar panels on everything. It's about listening - really listening - to how people want to live and work, then figuring out how to make that happen without trashing the environment in the process.
How We Got Here
The journey wasn't always smooth, but it's been worth every late night
2011
The Beginning
Started with just three of us and way too much coffee. We'd literally sketch designs on napkins during client meetings. Not ideal, but hey, everyone's gotta start somewhere.
2014
First Major Project
Landed a commercial building in Yaletown that put us on the map. The client took a chance on us when bigger firms wouldn't even return their calls. Still grateful for that trust.
2017
Sustainability Focus
Decided to stop treating green design as an add-on. It became our thing. Lost a few clients who thought we were "too preachy" but gained way more who actually cared.
2020
Team Expansion
Moved to our current spot on Granville. Finally got enough space to spread out. Also brought on some incredibly talented folks who make us look way smarter than we are.
2023
Present Day
We're now a team of 18, working on projects across BC and beyond. Still learning, still making mistakes, but definitely getting better at this whole architecture thing.
Meet Some of the Team
The people who actually do the heavy lifting around here

Sarah Hyperquinth
Principal Architect
Started this whole thing. Still draws by hand sometimes because "it feels more honest." Her dog comes to the office more than some employees.

Marcus Avorn
Design Director
The guy who says "what if we tried..." and then sketches something brilliant in about 30 seconds. Makes the rest of us look bad, honestly.

Priya Mehta
Sustainability Lead
Knows more about building materials than should be humanly possible. Catches our mistakes before they become expensive problems.

James Park
Senior Project Manager
Keeps everything running when the rest of us get too excited about design details. The voice of reason nobody wants but everybody needs.
Our Approach
We're not into the whole "visionary genius architect" thing. Architecture's a team sport, and the team includes you - the person who's actually gonna live or work in the space.
Every project starts with questions, not answers. What bugs you about your current space? What makes you smile when you walk into a building? What's your budget, really - not the inflated number, the actual one?
Then we figure out how to make it work. Sometimes that means convincing you that your idea's gonna look terrible (sorry, but someone's gotta say it). Other times it means pushing you to think bigger than you thought possible.
See What We Do

Why Work With Us?
Honestly? We're not for everyone, and that's fine.
We're Straight Shooters
If something's not gonna work, we'll tell you upfront. No sugarcoating, no "let's see what happens." Your time and money matter.
Sustainability's Non-Negotiable
Every project we take on has to meet our environmental standards. We've turned down work because clients didn't want to prioritize this. Worth it.
We Return Emails
Sounds basic, right? You'd be surprised. We actually communicate throughout the process. Revolutionary concept in this industry, apparently.
Local Knowledge
We know Vancouver's permitting process, climate challenges, and neighbourhood quirks. That insider knowledge saves you headaches and money.
Want to Grab Coffee and Chat?
No pressure, no sales pitch. Just a conversation about what you're trying to build and whether we're the right fit to help make it happen.
